A Blonde, a Brunette, and a Redhead walk into a bar...
Hello my Beauties.
Ahh, what a lovely weekend I had this week. It all started on a quiet Friday evening that quickly turned into a fabulous nightout.
A good friend of mine invited me to a Paul Bricius beer tasting - an interesting brand, which he just started to import from Sicily and that is completely new to a Maltese market. Soon I was all dressed up and ready to try this new fancy beer that comes in a wine-like bottle. Since there were 3 different types of beer, each of which goes with different cuisine, the event was held in 2 locations.
First stop was Lore & Fitch, which is, by the way, the best meat place in Malta in my opinion (their tartar though is something out of this world)… Anyway, perfect location to introduce beer that goes with meat:
RED STRONG ALE
It has a scent of a ripe plum, caramel and cocoa; and an aftertaste of a good liqueur combined with floral and herbaceous hints. Little did I notice how I was sipping my third glass (not bad for a person who doesn’t drink beer). Although it is considered as strong, it was going very smoothly.
Next came nibbles and “The Blonde”. It is characterised by complex and elegant aromas of light honey, chamomile, wheat, citrus fruits and raisins.
Many pints of “blonde” later our marry company moved to the second location called Dolce Vita. The view and the interior of this place alone deserve enough praises but it is so much more… I would include it in my Top 5 favourite places in Malta.
There were oysters, chocolate and “The Brunette” waiting for us:
DARK STRONG ALE
Beer dark as Sicilian night with notes of roasted coffee and barley - my personal favourite . It has a taste of liquorice, cocoa and dried fruits with a prevalence of toasted tones that come in the end.
The night went on so did we… Next time don’t miss it as they are always on my Instagram Stories and Snapchat (both @romeaadler).
Bye, my loves, till next time xxx
Special thanks to our photographer that night: Gianluca Barbanera.
